Our new heavy duty pendulum drive is nothing short of amazing! The PHDPD is the most powerful pendulum drive available today. It operates on 1 D cell battery, which is installed in a remote battery well, that can be positioned almost anywhere I your clock case to make changing batteries very easy. You can now make grandfather size clocks with a traditional sized pendulum without spending hundreds of dollars. Just imagine the possibilities!

Here are the specifics: our new heavy duty pendulum drive will operate up to a 41" pendulum that weighs up to 8 ounces, that's half a pound! It will operate for over a year on just one alkaline "D" cell battery. Please remember, this is not a clock movement, but rather just a device that will operate a large pendulum. You can use it with any quartz movement to create whatever type of clock design you wish.

A popular choice is to use our PHDPD with a chime movement, our weight shells and our 36” adjustable pendulum, or our 41” lyre pendulum to convert a mechanical Grandfather clock over to a battery operated model. Please remember that pendulums designed for use with weight driven movements are often much heavier than 8 ounces, and because of this they may be to heavy to be operated by the PHDPD.
